Company Story They were exhausted as they waited in line at the post office.  It was just a few minutes before midnight on April 15th, 1998.  Bill Gougér and Mike Franzmann had just finished the last few tax returns.  The firm's first tax season was nearly in the books. As they waited, they discussed the events that had transpired since they began their practice just two  months earlier.  Working from their modest office in Bill's living room, they had not slept in two days.  All that was left to do was to make sure the final tax returns were postmarked and they could finally get some rest. As it turned out, their work was not quite through.  A young woman burst through the post office doors.  "Is there anyone here who can help me with my tax return?" she cried. Bill quickly took the young woman aside and helped her complete her tax forms while Mike saw to the mailing of the final few returns.  It was a fitting end to their first year in practice. A lot has changed since we founded Gougér Franzmann & Hooke in 1998.  Our practice has grown to over twelve employees and has developed a tremendously dynamic client base that looks to us for legal advice in the areas of estate planning, business law, real estate, and of course, taxation.
